A wedding is probably one of the most momentous occasions of one’s life. Indian weddings are typically characterized by hundreds of guests in attendance, lots of ceremonies and a grand wedding feast. What would you do if there was some dish in the feast that you really relished, but ran out of stock? A similar situation happened at a wedding in the Alappuzha district of Kerala. Believe it or not, guests broke out into a fight after there was a shortage of papad demanded by the friends of the groom. A video clip of the incident has surfaced on Twitter. Take a look:

Twitter user Rakesh Simha shared the 39-second clip wherein a brawl could be seen happening. Wedding guests could be seen engaging in an ugly fight with their hands and legs. “A fist fight broke out at a wedding after friends of the bridegroom demanded papad during the feast. This triggered a verbal spat and ended up in an ugly brawl,” wrote the user in the tweet.

According to reports, the spat began when some friends of the groom demanded extra Pappadum at the Kerala wedding. Pappadum is a popular snack served with the meal, made by forming rice flour into thin papads and deep frying till it turns crunchy. However, the servers did not provide it to the guests and thus the fight started. As per On Manorama, two guests and the auditorium owner were injured due to the incident.

Twitter users too shared their reactions to the fight at the Kerala wedding. “there ain’t no reason to deny someone more pappadams,” felt one Twitter user while another wrote, “Thappads for pappads at a Kerala wedding.” Take a look at some reactions here:

This is not the only bizarre wedding to have made it to the news. In another similar wedding, a bride said that she wanted her wedding guests to pay for the meal. She said that this would be in lieu of gifts at the wedding – a decision that received mixed responses online.
