With time running out fast and chances of the snarl easing looking bleak, the girls abandoned their vehicles and started running down the highway, admit cards and pens in their hands. Videos of the incident went gone viral.

The traffic jam has been removed now,” Kaimur district education officer Suman Sharma told TOI on Saturday, adding they had been constantly reporting the issue of traffic jams to local administration but the problem persists. Sharma further “We raised the issue at every meeting with department officials,” the DEO said, blaming it on construction work on the road.
