Experience Healthy Indulgence At Fig At Malcha – The New-Age Conscious Cafe In Delhi

[ad_1]

The cafe culture is booming in the capital city with extensions in food offerings and coffee varieties. The new-age cafes are surpassing the old image of a tiny enclosure with limited snacking options. The newly-opened Fig at Malcha brings a whole new cafe experience with its spacious outlet in Malcha Marg. After winning hearts with its outpost in Gurugram (Fig at Museo), Fig at Malcha goes the extra mile in riveting the discerning population of Delhi. The unique ‘conscious cafe’ gives healthy eating a whole new meaning with some sumptuous offerings that look straight out of a fine dining restaurant.

An amalgamation of Japanese design and Nordic lifestyle, the cafe features a curated menu based on seasonal produce from local farms, 100% GMO-free meat, cage-free eggs as well as a Parisian style in-house bakery that bakes fresh breads and pastries every morning and evening, and ‘farm-to-cup’ specialty coffee.

My Gastronomic Journey At ‘Fig at Malcha’

I happened to pay the cafe a visit and got to experience a never-seen-before eco-contemporary and conscious offering that too in a relaxed and soothing setup. The moment I stepped into the cafe, I was invigorated with the minimalistic yet aesthetic white interiors of the cafe. The two-floor layout gave a respite from the otherwise chock-a-block restaurants we see everywhere.

The menu is extensive, offering something for everyone. From all-day breakfast items, soups and salads to pastas and Thai food – there are options galore.

But first things first – coffee! I ordered Iced Latte and it was quite a refreshing ‘pick me up’ drink. Then I started my meal with Chicken Won Ton Soup and it was so delicious that it worked up my appetite for more. Being a prawns lover, I had to order Prawns Ceviche. Although it looked and tasted great but I felt the flavour of avocado overpowered prawns in the dish that I somewhat missed. Salmon Carpaccio looked great and tasted even better with the pairing of crunchy green beans and delectable sauce.

Shepherd’s Pie gave me the joy of a comfort meal, which it is known for. The layering of the pie was done beautifully and it didn’t weigh down my stomach after such a hearty meal. I had to wait for a long time for the Lamb Chops to arrive but the way it was plated made me forget about it. Lamb was paired with sauteed veggies that were oh-so palatable. The outer crust of the pork was a bit too crispy but the overall flavours in the plate were good. I ended the meal on a sweet note with Burnt Cheesecake and it can be described in one word – ‘heavenly’.

I left with a full stomach and a fuller heart. One thing that really fascinated me was the presentation of all the dishes; kudos to the chef for showing his creativity on the plate. I am definitely going back to Fig at Malcha for more.
