PM Modi, Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan condole the demise of veteran Malayalam actor Innocent – Times of India

Veteran Malayalam actor and former MP Innocent passed away on Sunday (Mar 26) at a private hospital in Kochi. He was 75. He breathed his last at 10.30 pm. Innocent was under treatment from March 3, and as per the hospital, “He was infected with Covid and had respiratory issues along with multiple organ failure resulting in heart failure.”
Innocent’s demise has devastated people from all walks of life, including the entertainment industry. PM Narendra Modi and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan have expressed their grief and condolence on the demise of Innocent.
The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the demise of noted actor and former MP Shri Innocent Vareed Thekkethala. In a tweet, the PM said, “Pained by the passing away of noted actor and former MP Shri Innocent Vareed Thekkethala. He will be remembered for enthralling audiences and filling people’s lives with humour. Condolences to his family and admirers. May his soul rest in peace: PM @narendramodi”

Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan noted that Innocent’s demise is a huge loss for Kerala. In a tweet, the CM said, “The passing of actor, parliamentarian, and fellow comrade Innocent leaves us deeply saddened. His effortless onscreen performances and strong political interventions have made him an indelible part of our cultural memory. In mourning with family, friends, and fellow film lovers.”

Actors Mohanlal, Manju Warrier, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and many others have taken to their respective social media platforms to mourn the demise of Innocent. Innocent’s passing has left a void in the Malayalam movie industry, that is irreversible.
