NEW DELHI: The two alleged terrorists arrested by Delhi Police’s special cell on Thursday had murdered a man, chopped his body into pieces and filmed the act, including the beheading, the police have claimed.
They also sent the video to their foreign-based handlers, including an ISI operative, to prove their worth, claimed sources.

The shocking revelations have come after the police recovered dismembered body parts from the wetlands in northwest Delhi’s Bhalswa Dairy area on Saturday and also retrieved the video from their cellphone. The deceased is yet to be identified. A Trishul-like tattoo on one hand is being used to trace the person through missing persons records, an officer said.
Terror act: Police seize grenades from rented Jahangirpuri house
The two alleged terrorists arrested by Delhi Police’s special cell on Thursday had murdered a man, chopped his body into pieces and filmed the act. The cops claimed to have seized two hand grenades from their rented accommodation in Jahangirpuri.
A court on Friday sent Jagjit Singh Jassa alias Yaqub (29) and Naushad (56) to 14-day police custody. They have been booked under UAPA and for murder. They were arrested on Thursday as part of a surveillance-based operation launched on a tip-off. The police had seized three pistols and 22 cartridges from them.
The cops claimed to have retrieved data from their handsets and confronted them with the video. The suspects allegedly confessed to the murder and led the cops to the body. The police have recovered the head, legs and hand apart from other body parts but are yet to find the torso. A separate FIR for murder has been filed.
Their rented accommodation in Shradhanand Colony at Bhalswa Dairy was examined by forensic officials on Saturday. They found traces of human blood in a refrigerator and other places in the house, triggering suspicion that they had stored the body parts in the refrigerator. Some neighbours also told the cops that they had seen them taking the refrigerator somewhere a few days ago and the duo had claimed it was for repairs.
While the two are being questioned on source of arms and ammunition, the cops are running full forensics on their handsets to ascertain whom they had sent the video to.
The police alleged that Naushad belonged to Jahangirpuri’s D block which was also searched. “He was a member of terrorist outfit Harkat-ul-Ansar and a life convict in two cases of murder. He has also undergone a 10-year sentence in a case under the Explosives Act,” said an officer. The police have found that Jagjit Jassa, a resident of Uttarakhand, had been receiving regular instructions from anti-national elements based abroad. He had reportedly jumped parole in the case of a murder in Uttrakhand, cops said.
“He is a henchman of gangsters-turned-terrorist Arsh Dalla and Sukha Duneke and an important member of Punjab’s Bambiha gang. He had met Naushad in Haldwani jail,” said an official.
Incidentally, Dalla was declared an ‘individual terrorist’ by the Indian government a few days ago. Dalla, who is currently a permanent resident of Canada, is associated with Khalistan Tiger Group. He is involved in over two dozen cases of murder, extortion and targeted killings, police said, adding that a red-corner notice by the Interpol is pending against him. Efforts are under way to get him extradited and apprehend him.
