Manchester United have confirmed that Marcus Rashford has returned to training and will be available for selection against Wolves on Thursday night in the Premier League.

Rashford was left out of United’s traveling squad for the FA Cup match against Newport County after missing Friday’s training session at Carrington due to illness, while Rashford was spotted at a Belfast nightclub earlier in the week.

United said they were told the image of Rashford in a nightclub was from Wednesday night, and the player had the day off on Thursday. It has been reported that the England international was seen socializing on Thursday night, shortly before reporting ill.

Manager Erik ten Hag described the problem as an ‘internal matter’, confirming that Rashford would stay in Manchester to recover while his teammates faced Newport.

“He reported ill and the rest is an internal matter,” Ten Hag said on Sunday. “It is an internal matter. As I said, we will deal with it. I will deal with it.”

Rashford, United’s Player of the Year last season, has four goals and six assists across all competitions this season. Ahead of the return to the Premier League on Thursday, United have released a statement. “Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed.”

According to the update, Rashford could return to the starting lineup as United look to climb the Premier League table. The 26-year-old has scored in his last two league games, against Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur.

United enter the Premier League game in eighth place in the table, three points behind West Ham United in sixth, ahead of the midweek fixtures. Wolves are currently in 11th place, but a win at Molineux would bring them level on points with United.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are in the running to sign Brighton sensation Kaoru Mitoma, but they face competition from Arsenal and Manchester City. Mitoma’s statistics indicate that he would make an excellent signing for United, given his ability to dribble and create dangerous opportunities in the final third.
