Breakout Test spinner Manav Suthar signs County Championship contract

Breakout India spinner Manav Suthar has signed a short-term deal with Warwickshire for the next two rounds of the County Championship, the English club announced on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old left-arm spinner, who impressed on his Test debut against Afghanistan last week with wickets, is set to be available for Warwickshire’s fixtures against Yorkshire and Somerset.

Suthar joins the county side after a rapid rise in the past few years. Before making his India debut, he had picked up 129 wickets in 29 first-class matches. Warwickshire said Suthar would add a new dimension to their bowling attack as they continue their push for the County Championship title.

Speaking after the signing via a press release, Suthar said he was excited to join a side that has started the season strongly and hoped to contribute to their title challenge.
