India’s T20 World Cup campaign received a special boost on Sunday as teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi extended his support to the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side ahead of their high-voltage clash against Pakistan.

The young star took to Instagram and shared a heartfelt story wishing the India Women team all the best for their tournament opener. India begin their T20 World Cup journey against arch-rivals Pakistan in Birmingham in what is being billed as one of the most anticipated contests of the tournament. The two sides have been drawn in a highly competitive group, making a strong start crucial for their qualification hopes.The rivalry has largely favoured India over the years. India hold a 6-2 advantage over Pakistan in Women’s T20 World Cups and have won 13 of the 16 T20Is played between the two teams.Harmanpreet Kaur‘s side will be aiming to continue that dominance when they take the field on Sunday. India are expected to rely on experienced stars such as Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma and captain Harmanpreet, while Pakistan will look towards skipper Fatima Sana and their young batting talent to challenge the favourites.Vaibhav’s support carries added significance given his own meteoric rise in Indian cricket.
