India have been left sweating just a couple of days before the first T20I against Afghanistan as Ishan Kishan suffered an injury scare during a practice session on Friday, September 11.

Kishan, who had joined the team after leading East Zone to the Duleep Trophy title, appeared to have hurt his back while batting in the nets. Kishan was trying to duck a bouncer from Navdeep Saini, who was working as a net bowler for the Indian team.

The physios quickly attended to Kishan, who appeared to be in some discomfort. The incident happened towards the end of his 45-minute session and didn’t bat after that.

Thankfully, Kishan was able to walk after the issue and sat down on the ice box with the teammates before going off the field. From the visuals from the boundary, it didn’t seem like a serious issue as Kishan was able to leave the field on his own.

KISHAN LOOKED IN FINE TOUCH

The Indian wicketkeeper-batter appeared to be in good rhythm during the 45-minute session. He looked to be fluent with his strokeplay and batted alongside skipper Shreyas Iyer during the session. On the other side, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was seen batting alongside Sanju Samson as the duo could battle it out for the opener’s spot on Sunday.
