NEW DELHI: Leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Sunday met Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim over breakfast on the sidelines of the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi.Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was also present at the meeting. Pictures shared by the Congress showed Rahul Gandhi and Anwar Ibrahim engaged in conversation over breakfast, with the two also seen shaking hands and exchanging smiles.Ibrahim later described Rahul Gandhi as his “good friend” in a post on X, saying the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on developments around the world and in the region.“Had the opportunity once again to meet my good friend, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Indian Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, this morning over breakfast. This brief meeting provided space for us to exchange views on the latest international and regional developments,” the Malaysian prime minister said.The meeting came a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks with Ibrahim on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit. Their discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in areas including trade, semiconductors, infrastructure and defence.
