Kavya Maran, Anirudh wedding confirmed by Telangana CM, he gets reception invite
Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran and music composer Anirudh Ravichander are set to take their relationship to the next level, with the Telangana Chief Minister’s Office confirming their wedding reception plans. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy received a special invitation from Kavya’s parents, Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and Kavery Maran, for the reception scheduled in Chennai on November 21.
The announcement came through a post on X by the Telangana CMO, which revealed that the Marans met Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills to invite him to the family celebration. While wedding rumours have been doing the rounds for months, the official post has now put the reception details firmly in the public domain.
“Sun Group Chairman Shri Kalanithi Maran and his wife, Smt. Kavery Maran, met Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri A. Revanth Reddy at his residence in Jubilee Hills and invited him to the wedding reception of their daughter, Kavya Maran,” The Telangana CMO wrote.
“The wedding reception of Kavya Maran and Anirudh Ravichander is scheduled to be held in Chennai on November 21.”
The announcement confirms the reception date, although reports claiming that the wedding ceremony will take place in Greece on November 11 remain unverified. For now, Chennai is where the celebrations are officially set to continue, with the Chief Minister among those invited.
ANIRUDH HAD SHUT DOWN RUMOURS
The wedding speculation is not new. Reports linking Kavya and Anirudh romantically have surfaced over the past few years, but the composer had brushed off one round of rumours in June 2025.
Reacting to claims that he was set to marry Kavya, Anirudh had taken to X and written, “Marriage ah? lol .. Chill out guys. Please stop spreading rumours.”
The Telangana CMO’s post is the clearest confirmation yet, with the composer and Kavya now named together in the announcement of their November 21 reception.
FROM THE IPL STANDS TO THE SPOTLIGHT
Kavya is the daughter of Kalanithi Maran and heads Sunrisers Hyderabad, the IPL franchise owned by the Sun Group. She has become one of the tournament’s most recognisable faces, with her reactions in the stands often becoming talking points among fans during the IPL season.
Anirudh, meanwhile, is one of the leading music composers in Indian cinema, with a string of successful soundtracks to his name. He has also composed the music for Jailer 2, the Rajinikanth-starrer directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
With the reception now confirmed by the Telangana CMO, the long-running speculation around the pair has taken a major step towards becoming a family celebration in Chennai on November 21.
