Odisha CM, Governor pay homage to two soldiers killed in the LAC clash
Politicians cutting across party lines including Union Minister Pratap sarangi, Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar and Amar Pattnaik also paid last respects to the two Odia bravehearts martyred in Galwan valley.

The bodies of two jawans from Odisha, who were killed in action at the LAC, were brought in to Bhubaneshwar on Thursday. Sepoy Chandrakanta Pradhan from Kandhamal and Naib Subedar Nuduram Soren of Mayurbhanj were among the twenty soldiers killed in clash with Chinese troops in Ladakh on Monday night.
A guard of honour was given to the slain soldiers at the airport. Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik and Governor Ganeshi Lal paid homage to the soldiers. Wrapped in tricolour, their mortal remains were then taken to their respective villages and last rites were performed with full state honour.
Politicians cutting across party lines including Union Minister Pratap Sarangi, Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samanta, Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi, Rajya Sabha MP Sujeet Kumar and Amar Pattnaik also paid last respects to the two Odia bravehearts martyred in Galwan valley.
Kandhamal MP Achyuta Samant announced that he will bear the education expenses of the Sepoy Pradhan’s children and his family.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Pratap Sarangi said that the Modi government will give a ‘befitting reply’ to China. “This is not the government of 1962. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will give a befitting reply to China at an appropriate time. I can’t say when, but we will definitely teach them a lesson,” he said.
He added that it is upto the people to boycott Chinese goods. “I can’t say anything about it,” he said.
