The press statement said only Chirag Paswan was authorised to take a final call regarding the NDA.
Lok Janshakti Party president and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan on Tuesday removed district president from his party’s Munger unit, Raghavendra Bharti for calling Bihar ‘NDA united’.
“Munger district president Raghavendra Bharti has violated the guidelines of the party and violated party president directions for maintaining discipline in the party. He is being released of his duties as district president till further notice,” read a press statement released by the party.
The press release further stated Raghvendra Bharti’s comments calling ‘NDA united’ was against the rules of the party as only party president Chirag Paswan is authorised to give comments regarding the NDA alliance. The press statement said only Chirag Paswan was authorised to take a final call regarding the NDA.
In the past one week, Chirag Paswan has dropped enough signals of being uncomfortable being in the NDA.
Last week, while addressing his party workers through video conferencing Chirag Paswan said the face of NDA was changing and that his party leaders and workers should be ready for any situation in Bihar elections.
In the political circle, Chirag Paswan’s comment was seen as his expression of his angst against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar. According to sources, Nitish Kumar is upset with Chirag Paswan as he has put the Bihar CM in a tight spot raising issues of law and order and the condition of migrant workers in the state.
Sources said Lok Janshakti Party will be given only 25-30 seats in the Bihar assembly elections while Chirag Paswan is adamant on 42.
