A delegation of YSRCP MPs led by Party General Secretary and Rajya Sabha MP V Vijaysai Reddy met Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla in Delhi on Friday and requested him to disqualify Narsapuram MP Raghurama Krishna Raju.

Businessman turned politician Raghurama Krishna Raju recently made headlines when he wrote a letter to LS speaker Om Birla alleging threat to his life from leaders of his own party. In addition, he also criticised party chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy while claiming that YSRCP’s MLAs were involved in corruption cases and caste politics is at its peak within the party.

Raju was also served a notice by the party general secretary. After he termed the summon illegal, MP Raghurama Krishna Raju and even approached the High Court and the Election Commission of India (ECI).

He even accused YSRCP General Secretary V Vijaysai Reddy of doing “great harm” to the party.

At the time of submitting the disqualification petition, Vijaysai Reddy said, “He used unparliamentarily language against our party president and Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and other party members. He has never discussed his inconvenience within the party forum anytime, instead, took it up in the public, going against the party guidelines.”

The ruling party in Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP has alleged that Narsapuram MP Raghurama Krishna Raju had colluded with opposition leaders against his own party. “The anti-defection law applies to Raghurama Krishna Raju, who contradicted the party rules, and he even misused the freedom of speech and Section 10 should be invoked,” Vijaysai Reddy added.

YSRCP floor leader in the Lok Sabha, Mithun Reddy said that Raghurama Krisha Raju’s reply to the notice served to him was irresponsible. This, claimed Reddy, forced him to take up the matter with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Earlier, Raghurama Krisha Raju had shocked members of his party when he met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, MoS (Home) G Kishan Reddy and Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla. Raju has also launched a special song in praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the past.
