J&K: Army officer, policeman injured in encounter in Pulwama

An encounter between terrorists and police team started in Gusoo area of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday morning.

One policeman and one army soldier have been injured in an encounter between forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama. According to reports, a joint team of Police and Army’s 53 Rashtriya Rifles laid a cordon-and-search operation in Gusso area of Pulwama.

As the joint team encircled the suspected spot, hiding terrorists fired upon them. Fire was retaliated by the joint team, triggering an encounter.

A senior police officer confirmed the exchange of fire between the joint team and terrorists. Sources told India Today TV that two to three terrorists are believed to be trapped. Exchange of fire between terrorists and security forces on.
