The world celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr recently. And there’s no better way to mark the festival than a bowl of seviyan. Vermicelli or seviyan, cooked with milk, cardamom, nuts and sugar, is the heart and soul of this Eid (also referred to as Meethi Eid). And it seems like Genelia D’Souza, too, has found “happiness” in this traditional and age-old sweet dish. Genelia’s love for all things delicious is well known. She frequently posts pictures of her foodie adventures on social media platforms. Moreover, we all know that she is an advocate of veganism. As a result, the majority of the food she relishes is vegan. Even her latest indulgence of seviyan was also vegan. Courtesy: her good friend Mushtaq Shiekh.

Genelia shared a clip on Instagram, giving us a glimpse of her Eid ki seviyan, which was topped with chopped pistachio and cashew nuts. Alongside, she penned a sweet thank you note. “Happiness is when your best friend especially sends you seviyan kheer (vegan)… Thank you my darling Mushtaq Shiekh. Please thank mama for me too,” Genelia captioned the post.

It was not Genelia alone. Several other Bollywood stars gave fans a sneak peek of their Eid celebrations. And, Huma Qureshi was one of them. The actress celebrated the joyous occasion with brother Saqib Saleem, parents as well as friends including Sonakshi Sinha. She posted adorable moments from her Eid celebration in a string of Instagram Stories. But, we were personally hooked to the lavish lunch spread. In the video, we could see a platter of salad consisting of onions and tomatoes along with slices of lemon, placed next to some crispy papad. Yummilicious portions of mutton and chicken along with masoor dal were served with bread. Not to miss the drool-worthy chicken and mutton biryani, accompanied by curd and green chutney. “Lunch time,” she captioned the post.
