Another Gurgaon shocker: 2 killed, 2 critical as DU student’s speeding car mows down 4 near Shriram Chowk

GURGAON: Two workers were killed and two others critically injured after a speeding white car crashed into a group of four workers carrying out roadside metal grille installation work near Shriram Chowk on the Dwarka Expressway in the early hours of Thursday.The accident took place at around 2.30am when the car, which was travelling from the Delhi side, hit the workers working along the expressway.The driver of the car, identified as 20-year-old, a Delhi University student Vedan Khanna, was also injured in the crash. The collision was so severe that two of the workers died at the spot, while two others sustained serious injuries.Khanna is a resident of Indiabulls Enigma in Sector 110, Gurgaon. After receiving initial treatment, he was referred to Fortis Hospital for further treatment.Following the crash, the injured workers were taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment. After being informed, cops from Bajghera police station reached the spot. The Delhi number car was also impounded.Police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving causing death, at Bajghera police station.According to preliminary information, the speeding car, bearing registration number DL7CT-3165, allegedly went out of control and crashed into the workers at the site.The impact was severe, killing Bijendra, aged around 60, and Pappu Singh, also around 58 on the spot. Both deceased were residents of Bulandshahr in Uttar Pradesh.Two other workers, identified as Satish Chand (45) and Ram Kumar (28), sustained serious injuries in the accident. They were rushed to hospital after the incident for treatment.
