AUS vs IND: Rohit Sharma reveals why India banned fans at practice sessions
Indian captain Rohit Sharma opened up about the team banning fans from attending the net’s session in Australia. Rohit said that everything that was discussed in the practice session stays private, and they did not want public intervention in the same. The Indian cricket team’s nets session was open to the public in Adelaide ahead of the pink-ball Test. Team India banned open net practice session on their tour of Australia after things turned out to be chaotic. It was also reported that the players were subjected to insensitive comments by the crowd in the stands.
You know, the net sessions are very private, and this was the first time ever I saw so many people during the nets. And when you’re training, when you’re practising, there are a lot of conversation that happens, and those conversations are very private. We don’t want anyone to hear those conversations. It is as simple as that because there’s a lot of planning,” Rohit said in the press conference.

Why open nets session banned?
Rohit jokily said that the fans should rather come for official 5-day Test matches than for training sessions.
“There’s a lot of talking that happens. And the crowds are very close to that practice facility. There are five days of Test cricket. They can come and watch us there,” he said.
As a result of the sheer chaos the fans created in the stands, the Indian team management informed Cricket Australia they wouldn’t have open training sessions any more.
Training sessions being open to the public in Australia is a common practice, but things went out of control after thousands of fans thronged to watch the Indian cricket team train, while the Australia session was reportedly attended by fewer people.
India batter KL Rahul had spoken to reporters in Adelaide and said that open net session was quite a different experience. Rahul had said that he was not used to fans being in such proximity during sessions.
