GANDHINAGAR: Exuding confidence that BJP will form the government in Gujarat under the leadership of CM Bhupendra Patel after the assembly elections later this year, Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday asserted that “dream sellers” will not win in the state.
Speaking virtually on the commemoration of Patel completing one year in office as CM, Shah said BJP will again form the government with a two-thirds majority. He also praised Patel for his leadership during the function held here.
“I want to tell Bhupendrabhai that the people of Gujarat are with BJP. I can see clearly that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and you, BJP will once again form a government with a two-thirds majority in the upcoming elections,” Shah said.
Taking a veiled swipe at the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Shah said people who “sell dreams” will never win in Gujarat. “People who sell dreams will never get electoral success in Gujarat. I know the people of Gujarat. Those in the business of selling dreams can never get success in Gujarat because the people support only those who believe in doing work. That is why people stand by BJP’s side. BJP is on its way to achieving a thumping victory,” Shah said while addressing the function.
A number of development works worth Rs 1,119 crore were also unveiled to mark the occasion.
