BSE, NSE announce Diwali Muhurat Trading: Check date and time – Times of India
NEW DELHI: The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and the National Stock Exchange (NSE), two of India’s prominent stock exchanges, have announced a special one-hour trading session called ‘Muhurat Trading‘ on November 1, which coincides with the festival of Diwali.
This symbolic trading session, scheduled between 6 pm and 7 pm, will mark the commencement of the new Samvat 2081, as per the circulars issued by the exchanges.
Although regular trading will remain closed on Diwali, the exchanges will open a special trading window for one hour in the evening, with a pre-opening session from 5.45 pm to 6.00 pm.
However, due to the limited trading window of one hour, the markets are expected to experience volatility. The emphasis during this session may be more on the symbolic gesture rather than on profitability, as suggested by the analysts.
The ‘Muhurat Trading’ session will encompass various market segments, including equity, commodity derivatives, currency derivatives, equity futures & options, and securities lending & borrowing (SLB), all of which will operate within the designated one-hour time slot.
