NEW DELHI: Individual data collected as part of Census 2021 won’t be used for preparation of any other database, including NRC, the MHA reassured the Rajya Sabha on Wednesday. The provisions of the Census Act, 1948, bar individual data collected during Census from being made public, it said.
Junior home minister Nityanand Rai said that the provisions of the Census Act, 1948, bar individual data collected in Census exercise from being made public and only the aggregated Census data at various levels is placed in the public domain.
Among the demographic and socio- economic parameters on which data will be collected during Census, which will also be the first digital census with facility of self-enumeration by the respondents, are education, SC/ST, religion, language, marriage, disability, occupation and migration of the individuals.
11 security personnel killed in Naxal incidents: MHA
Eleven security personnel were killed in Naxal incidents in the first half of this year, against 50 in entire 2021, 43 in 2020 and 52 in 2019, according to the home ministry.
‘Govt got 2,359 hectares of state land in J&K since 2019’
The government acquired over 2,359 hectares of state land in J&K between 2019-20 and 2021-22 (up to June) for public purposes such as building of roads, railways, schools/colleges, playgrounds, parks, etc, the home ministry said.

The home ministry told Rajya Sabha that no Kashmiri Pandit had migrated from the Valley between the nullification of Article 370 on August 5, 2019 till July 9, 2022.
Agniveers will be exempted from physical test, RS told
Agniveers who are demobilised after completing their four-year stint in the Armed forces will get an exemption from the physical efficiency test, the government informed the Rajya Sabha.
