Coronavirus: BTS Suga confesses he lied about having no COVID-19 symptoms; explains why he did it – Times of India
In December last year, BTS members Suga, RM and Jin had tested positive for the SARs-COV-2 virus. V contracted the virus in January 2022, while J-Hope tested positive in March.
Miraculously, Jungkook was the only BTS member who did not get infected and the band talked about his ‘super antibodies’ in a recent Vlive session.
Boasting about the same, Jungkook admitted, “I think I am the Super Antibody…There are some people who don’t get the disease…I think I am the super antibody considering that I haven’t been confirmed yet.”
However, during the live episode, Suga took the opportunity to confess to his fans that he had asked Big Hit Entertainment to not disclose his COVID status as a symptomatic carrier. Although his symptoms were not very severe, he revealed that he did not want to worry his fans.
“I said my symptoms are not that severe because I thought you may worry, but I had symptoms,” he was quoted saying.
Yoongi said that when he was positive for COVID, he did have symptoms! But he requested (the staff) to write in the article that he was asymptomatic because he was afraid we’d be worried 😭

Fans were moved by his statement and showed support for his concern for his fans.
Symptomatic vs. asymptomatic COVID carriers
Symptomatic COVID patients refer to people who present a wide variety of symptoms after being infected with the SARs-COV-2 virus. The symptoms may range from mild to moderate and may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus, as per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
But as far as asymptomatic COVID patients are concerned, they test positive for the virus but develop no symptoms at all. They can actively spread the virus to other people, but show no signs whatsoever. As per CDC estimates, 35% of COVID-19 cases are asymptomatic.
