Delhi HC upholds dismissal of cop who probed Ishrat case | India News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Delhi high court upheld Wednesday former IPS officer Satish Chandra Verma’s dismissal from service a month before he was to retire on September 30, 2022. Verma was a member of the Gujarat HC-appointed special investigation team (SIT) that probed the police shooting of 19-year-old Ishrat Jahan and three others in Ahmedabad in June 2004, which he called a “fake encounter” in an affidavit to the court in 2011.
