It looks like Hero MotoCorp is all set to revive a legendary nameplate soon. The two-wheeler manufacturer has sent out a block-your-date invite for August 29 confirming the launch of a brand new product. Along with the invite is the tagline ‘Witness the return of the legend’, hinting that it is the comeback of the Karizma brand, in all likelihood.

The Karizma motorcycle first made its debut over two decades ago, and at the time, Hero MotoCorp was in a joint venture in India with Japanese two-wheeler company Honda.

Known as the Hero Honda Karizma, the motorcycle was an instant success in the country, leading to the introduction of the Karizma R as its successor, and then Karizma ZMR later on before being discontinued from the market.
If the ongoing rumours are to be believed, the new-generation of the motorcycle will likely be called Hero Karizma XMR or Karizma XMR 210. While specifications aren’t available as of yet, we expect Hero MotoCorp to plonk a 210 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine on the motorcycle, putting out about 25 PS of maximum power, mated to a 6-speed transmission.

The suspension duties will likely be taken care of by telescopic forks up front, coupled to a monoshock at the rear. Braking is expected to be taken care of by a standard front disc brake, while a rear disc brake could also be on offer, with dual-channel ABS. Other features will likely include a fully-digital instrument cluster, LED headlight and tail light, navigation, hazard-light switch and so on.
