NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the World Dairy Summit (WDS) 2022, a congregation of global and Indian dairy industry leaders, experts, farmers, and policy planners, in Greater Noida on September 12.
The summit will be held in India 48 years after the country hosted the International Dairy Congress in 1974. India will, during the four-day Summit, showcase its transformational journey of unique smallholder dairying primarily based on cooperative strategy.
The summit will have multiple sessions around the theme “Dairy for Nutrition and Livelihood” covering different aspects of dairying. Around 1,500 participants from 50 countries have enrolled for participation in the International Dairy Federation (IDF) WDS 2022. India currently leads world dairy sector with a 6% growth and milk is the single largest agricultural commodity in the country valued at Rs 9.32 lakh crore, accounting for 23% of the global share.
