What Makes Afghani Chole Special An Ideal Indian Dinner Recipe?

The magic of Afghani Chole lies in its delectable combination of ingredients. Here’s a peek into the flavourful journey that this dish takes you on:

Chole/Chickpeas: The heart and soul of this dish, chickpeas, are rich in protein and fibre. They add a satisfying texture and earthy taste to the curry.

Creamy Curd: Afghani Chole gets its creamy texture from yoghurt. This ingredient not only lends a delightful creaminess but also balances the spices.

Aromatic Spices: Indian food is renowned for its aromatic spices, and Afghani Chole is no exception. You’ll find a blend of cumin, coriander, cardamom, and more, infusing the curry with layers of flavour.

Fresh Herbs: Fresh coriander adds a burst of freshness and colour to the dish. They elevate the taste and make it visually appealing.

Kasuri Methi: These dried fenugreek leaves add a unique bitterness that balances the creaminess and spices, creating a harmonious flavour profile.

Besan: This protein-rich flour had great binding properties. It not only lends it nutty flavour to the dish, but it also helps thicken the gravy, just the way we like it.
