Partha alleges conspiracy, says ‘time will tell’ | India News – Times of India
KOLKATA: Former Bengal minister Partha Chatterjee, who has been stripped of all Trinamool posts, on Friday said “somoy bolbe (time will tell)” whether the party had done right by taking action against him.
“Jara shorojontro korchhe tara jante parbe (those who are conspiring will get to know),” he said while being escorted out of ESI Hospital in Joka in a wheelchair. However, he refused to specify whom he suspected of being the conspirator.
While Chatterjee screamed conspiracy, his alleged “close associate” Arpita Mukherjee sobbed almost all the way to the Joka hospital from the CGO complex in Salt Lake that houses the ED office. She refused to step out of the car on reaching the hospital, repeatedly telling the media that she was “unable to take it anymore”.
At one point, Arpita seemed to lose her balance and trip. On the way to the examination room, she tried to squat on the floor. She was again spotted crying while being led back to the car.
Chatterjee’s remarks on Friday were in contrast to his defiance just two days ago, when he questioned why he should resign when reporters asked him if he planned to step down.
TMC hasn’t announced any replacement for the organisational positions that Chatterjee used to hold, except MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray, who was named editor of the party mouthpiece. The ministerial portfolios that were assigned to him will be with CM Mamata for now.
