Partial shutdown in Doda, Kishtwar over man’s death in run-in with cops
JAMMU: A partial shutdown affected normal life in Doda and Kishtwar district of Jammu & Kashmir on Saturday following the death of a 30-year-old man who was shot dead near Bhaderwah town in a run-in with police, even as mobile internet services remained suspended for the second consecutive day as a precautionary measure.Shops and business establishments remained closed across most parts of the district on Saturday.Aarif Hussain, 30, a resident of Cheeka village of Doda, allegedly attempted to snatch a service rifle from one of the SOG personnel at a checkpoint near Bhaderwah town when a jawan opened fire, injuring Aarif and three personnel of the SOG (special operations group).Meanwhile, an FIR has been lodged by police under various BNS sections, including attempt to murder and causing hurt or grievous hurt to deter public servant from his duty.
