JAIPUR: The carcass of tigress T-60 was discovered in the Nakka Gudda Forest area of Ranthambore National Park (RNP) in Rajasthan on Sunday. The forest department said the tigress died to complications related to pregnancy.
The staff monitoring the tigress on that day reported no signs of her movement. P Kathirvel, chief conservator of forests, and Mohit Gupta, divisional forest officer, accompanied by other forest officers, then went to the site to check on the tigress.Gupta, the DFO, said: “The tigress was nearly 13.5 years old.”
Tigress T-60, also known as Junior Indu, was the offspring of tigress T-31, and the mother of T-99, Aishwarya, which delivered a stillborn cub on Saturday morning. Pregnancy complications in 2 tigresses in the last 2 days is a significant setback for RNP.
