The cricket fans began another meme fest on social media as star India batter Virat Kohli gifted a bat to fast bowler Akash Deep. Akash shared the photograph of the bat with his fans on social media and thanked Kohli in his Instagram story. The incident immediately drew reaction from fans who recalled how Kohli denied giving a bat to Rinku Singh who had broken the first one gifted to him by the India star.
During the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, Rinku was spotted pleading with Kohli like a child to gift him another bat. However, the India batter was adamant that he had no spare ones left. The moment became an instant hit on social media with fans relating to Rinku’s situation seeing an innocent Kohli fan in him.
After Akash Deep got his prized possession from the former India captain, fans hilariously sympathized with Rinku posting several hysterical memes for the India youngster.
Meanwhile, Akash Deep had a phenomenal outing for India A in the Duleep Trophy as he picked nine wickets in the first round of the tournament against India B at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Akash registered figures of 9/116 across two innings and played a brilliant innings of 43 (42) in the second innings.

He had a marvellous debut in international cricket replacing Jasprit Bumrah during the fourth Test against England in Ranchi. The 27-year-old picked 3/83 in the first innings dismissing Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett and Ollie Pope in a magnificent new ball spell.
Akash will be eager to produce similar results if given an opportunity in the upcoming series against Bangladesh. The Indian team has already begun practicing at the MA Chidambaram Stadium ahead of the first Test with Kohli going through rigorous training sessions along with the entire team.
