RR can win all their remaining matches: Optimistic batting coach after RCB loss

Rajasthan Royals batting coach Vikram Rathore has backed his side to bounce back strongly in the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season and not dwell on their losses. Despite suffering a 9-wicket defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on April 13—RR’s fourth loss in six matches—Rathore expressed confidence in the squad’s ability to turn the season around by winning their remaining fixtures.
The Royals have struggled to find momentum this season, and Sunday’s loss saw them drop to seventh on the IPL 2025 points table. RCB’s dominating win, powered by Phil Salt and Virat Kohli’s top-order brilliance, further intensified the pressure on the Royals. Yet, in the post-match press conference, Rathore reiterated that the team isn’t short of talent and is firmly focused on staging a comeback.
IPL 2025, RR vs RCB: Highlights
“This is such a tournament (IPL), you’ve already see in the past, you can go on a 4-5 games winning streak, something that Rajasthan Royals have done in the past, but you have also seen teams lose. So I won’t put in beyond us (playoffs). The kind of team we have, we are capable of winning all our remainbing matches. We continue backing ourselves,” Rathore said.
IPL 2025, RR vs RCB: As it happened
Batting first, Rajasthan once again saw captain Sanju Samson fail to deliver a meaningful knock, getting out for just 15. Yashasvi Jaiswal carried the innings with a composed 75 off 47 balls, but he lacked support from the other batters. A failed early gamble on Shimron Hetmyer didn’t help either, but RR managed to post 173—a score they believed to be par on a tricky, two-paced Jaipur pitch.
However, RCB’s 92-run opening stand between Salt and Kohli made the pitch concerns seem irrelevant during their chase. Salt’s explosive 65 off 33 laid the foundation, and after his dismissal, Kohli’s unmatched game sense in his unbeaten 62 off 45—with steady support from Devdutt Padikkal—sealed RCB’s fourth consecutive away win and piled more pressure on the Royals.
Now sitting seventh, RR will need to regroup and reassess multiple aspects of their game ahead of a crucial clash against an in-form and unbeaten Delhi Capitals side on April 16.
