India captain Rohit Sharma emulated MS Dhoni in an elite feat on Thursday, 4 January. Rohit became only the second India captain in Test cricket history to draw a series in South Africa.

India vs South Africa, 2nd Test: Highlights

After their hammering in the first Test match in Centurion, India made a strong comeback and defeated South Africa on a treacherous Cape Town pitch. India bowlers were top-notch in the second Test match, first bowling out South Africa for just 55 runs in the first innings. South Africa were bowled out inside the first session on Day 1 after Mohammed Siraj ran through the Dean Elgar side. India came out to bat after lunch and were looking strong at 153/4. However, in a dramatic collapse, India lost their last 6 wickets for zero runs and were bowled out for the same score.

SA vs IND, 2nd Test: Scorecard

South Africa batted for almost 37 overs in the second innings and scored 176 – courtesy of a sensational 196 from Aiden Markram. Chasing 79 runs, India did not waste any time and finished the game in 12 overs with 7 wickets in hand.

This meant that Sharma eked out a draw in his first series in South Africa as the captain of the Test side.

Here’s the list of series results for India in South Africa.
