PARIS: Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar lavished praise on tennis legend Rafael Nadal for his caring nature towards his rival Alexander Zverev during the semi-final of the French Open on Friday.
Olympic gold medallist Zverev had to pull out of the match because of an injury to his right ankle. The match ended in Nadal’s favour with a scoreline of 7-6 (10-8), 6-6.
Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar posted a picture of Nadal talking and comforting the injured Zverev, and wrote, “The humility and concern shown by Nadal is what makes him so special.”

Late in the second set, Zverev twisted his ankle in a nasty manner while reaching out for a ball at the baseline and fell down screaming in pain. It was so bad that Zverev had to eventually leave the court on a wheelchair.
Albeit in unfortunate circumstances, the win took Nadal to his 14th French Open final.
