India wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson took his admiration for superstar Rajinikanth to another level, booking an entire theatre to watch the Tamil actor’s latest film, Jailer 2, with his wife and friends.

Samson, who has often spoken about his love for Rajinikanth’s movies, was excited to catch the film on the big screen after missing the opportunity to watch it on the day of its release. The cricketer revealed that an event in Delhi had prevented him from watching the movie earlier, but he made sure to make up for the delay.

“I love watching Rajini sir’s movies, and I always look forward to his next film. So, I’m actually a day late. I try to watch as many of his movies as possible. Yesterday, we had an event in Delhi, which is why I couldn’t watch it,” Samson said.

The wicketkeeper-batter added that he was fortunate to book the entire theatre for the screening, turning the movie outing into a special occasion with his family and friends.

“But today, fortunately, I was lucky enough to book the entire theatre. I’ve invited my friends, and my wife is here too. I’m very excited to watch Rajini sir on the big screen,” he added.

Samson also revealed that members of the Indian team’s support staff who understand Tamil would be joining the screening, making it a group outing for those sharing his enthusiasm for the language and its cinema.

“Everyone in the team and the support staff who knows Tamil is coming,” he said.

Samson’s decision to organise a private screening underlines his admiration for the veteran actor, whose films have enjoyed a devoted following across generations. Rajinikanth’s larger-than-life screen presence, signature mannerisms and mass appeal have made his releases major cinematic events, particularly in Tamil Nadu.
