CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Police have made a significant breakthrough in the ongoing manhunt as they have arrested Amritpal Singh, the leader of ‘Waris Punjab De’, from Moga district.

- AAP leader and Delhi minister Saurabh Bhardwaj says, “Punjab government handled this sensitively. No violence was reported. This is a very big achievement for Punjab Police.”

- Papalpreet Singh, a close aide of Amritpal, was taken to Assam’s Dibrugarh Central Jail on April 11 after he was arrested.
- Associates of Amritpal were shifted out of Punjab after Central Intelligence agencies raised concerns over possible jailbreak and repeat of the Ajnala incident on March 11
