Actor Sanjay Kapoor’s daughter Shanaya Kapoor has officially stepped into the world of cinema. She started off as an assistant director for the film Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl. The film starring Janhvi Kapoor in the title role was released digitally on August 12 and has been receiving positive reviews. 

Sanjay Kapoor took to Instagram to shower love on his daughter as she made her debut as an AD. He shared a picture of Shanaya posing with director Sharan Sharma and another picture of Shanaya posing in front of the credit rolls of the film where her name is displayed under the names of Assistant Directors. “I am so glad that Shanaya started her journey in this beautiful world of movies as an assistant director with you @sharansharma , You are an Extremely talented director and A super human being too , loved #gunjansaxena , looking forward to your next ! #gunjansaxena streaming now on #netflix,” Sanjay Kapoor wrote. 

Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is inspired by the true story of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, the first Indian Air Force woman pilot who conducted recce and rescue missions in the 1999 Kargil War.The film also starred Pankaj Tripathi, Vineet Kumar Singh, Angad Bedi and Manav Vij.
