I am super excited because this Eid ul-Fitr will be celebrated the way we used to in the pre-COVID era. Eid is a time for joy and laughter, and I miss the time when I celebrated the festival as a child. The most rewarding thing for me during Ramadan and Eid is experiencing the glory of Ramadan, along with all the fasting, reciting of the Holy Quran, prayers, charity, and piety. My most faveourite Eid memories are from the times we celebrated it with my mother; I still remember the taste of the most incredible sheer khurma she’d prepare for us. Any celebration without her doesn’t feel the same anymore; I just miss her so much! Now, on every Eid, I make the sheer korma which I learnt from mom. It’s the only thing I cook on the festival. I will also indulge my niece and nephew, and shower them with gifts and the customary Eidi!

Aly Goni

Look forward to gorging on delish food with my nieces & nephews: Aly Goni
I was in Mumbai for a few days after returning from Umrah. Right now, I am in Jammu to ring in Eid with my loved ones. Every year, if I’m not shooting, I try to spend the festival with my family. It is a day filled with love, laughter, and delicious food. We would all sit together and enjoy the fare – from sevaiyyan to the melt-in-your-mouth kebabs. I’m looking forward to some great times with my adorable nieces and nephews as well. Eid is special because it comes after a month of fasting and the day seems like a reward. Eid has always been pleasant, and I love the simplicity of this festival. I pray for peace and happiness for everyone on the day.

Somi and Saba Khan

On Eid, it is always like a grand family reunion for us: Saba & Somi Khan
We are currently in Mumbai and will be flying home to Jaipur to celebrate Eid with our family. We have picked up a few gifts for our siblings and our mom in Mumbai, but we’ve another round of shopping planned in the Pink City once we land. Eid is all about being happy and thankful for what God has provided us with. At the same time, it’s also about spreading happiness and cheer among everyone. So, we both want to shop for our extended family as well, we don’t want to leave anyone out. Also, we cannot wait to relish the delicacies made specially for the festival. As part of the celebrations, our mom cooks a lavish spread and it’s a kind of grand family reunion for us with all the relatives and friends visiting us.

Sumbul Touqeer Khan

I am celebrating Eid with cousins in hometown Katni this time: Sumbul Touqeer Khan
I’m so excited about this Eid al-Fitr as I am travelling to my hometown Katni in Madhya Pradesh. I will be celebrating the festival with my entire khandaan after six years. And so, I have an elaborate plan in place to enjoy the festival with my cousins. This reminds me of the Eid celebrations during my childhood, when we used to get Eidi and create a kitty using it. We are a gang of 10, including brothers and sisters, and used to ‘party’ for many days with the Eidi we received from our elders. Oh, that used to be such a memorable, fun celebration. I’m sure this year too, we will have a lot of fun reliving our childhood memories.

Shireen Mirza

This will be my first Eid celebration in Mumbai with fam-jam: Shireen Mirza
This year, Eid celebrations will have a new feel and charm for me. Until last year, I used to celebrate the festival in Delhi with my husband and in-laws, and before that, in my hometown Jaipur. But since my in-laws have shifted to Mumbai to live with us, this will be our first Eid celebration in Mumbai together. And this will not be just a family affair, but a grand celebration. I have also invited a few of my industry friends, including Aly Goni, Krishna Mukherjee and Divyanka Tripathi, to join us in the celebrations and festivities at my home.
