NEW DELHI: Ravindra Jadeja stole the limelight with his five-wicket haul on his return that helped India bundle out Australia for 177 on Day 1 of the first Test in Nagpur on Thursday.
But the left-arm orthodox spinner Jadeja also embroiled himself in a controversy after a video surfaced on the social media in which he can be seen applying something on his spinning finger.

The incident took place when Alex Carey and Peter Handscomb were at the crease and the Aussies were reeling at 5/120.
The broadcasters captured when Jadeja was taking something off the hand of pacer Mohammed Siraj. He then rubbed his hands and finger near and around the ball though it was uncertain what exactly was happening.
Jadeja’s conduct on the field triggered a debate with former Australian and England Test captains Tim Paine and Michael Vaughan raising concern on his intent.
When footage of the moment was shared with Paine by a fan on Twitter, he replied: “Interesting.”

“What is it he is putting on his spinning finger? Never ever seen this,” Vaughan also tweeted.
