Watch: Rohit Sharma playfully hits Shubman Gill during hilarious conversation

India captain Rohit Sharma was seen playfully hitting Shubman Gill during India’s warm up game against Prime Minister’s XI on Monday, December 2 at Manuka Oval in Canberra. Notably, India beat Prime Minister’s XI by six wickets which was their only warm up game ahead of the day/night Test in Adelaide. The game also witnessed the return of the India skipper Rohit Sharma who missed the first Test in Perth due to the birth of his second child.
As soon as the India captain returned in the team, his usual jovial mood was captured throughout the game as he engaged in several light-hearted moments with his teammates. In a viral video from the match, Rohit could be seen having a laugh with Shubman Gill, Harshit Rana and assistant Abhishek Nayar in the team’s dugout. The India skipper even playfully hit Gill on his chest with his elbow as the youngster burst into laughter with Nayar.

Earlier, Rohit was also seen punching Sarfaraz Khan who dropped a regulation take behind the stumps having donned the wicketkeeping gloves. In the second innings, Rohit even demoted himself in the batting order Rohit put himself down to number four as he let KL Rahul to continue opening the innings.
Rahul had opened alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first Test in Perth in Rohit’s absence and also got involved in a massive 201-run partnership. Hence, the management allowed him to continue batting at the top hinting at no shifting of his batting position even in the second Test in Adelaide.
However, Rohit failed in his first outing in Australia for the Indian team and got dismissed for 3 (11). The India captain ended up chasing a wide delivery and edged Charlie Anderson to wicketkeeper Oliver Davies to bring an end to his innings.
Hence, he didn’t have a memorable outing in the warm up game while other players such as Shubman Gill (50), Nitish Kumar Reddy (42), Yashasvi Jaiswal (45) and Washington Sundar (42) all impressed with the bat. Among bowlers, Harshit Rana (4/44) and Akash Deep (2/58) were the top wicket takers.
