Toyota Is Accused of Using Stolen Motor Technology in Rare Lawsuit
TOKYO— Toyota Motor Corp. used stolen technology for a steel material in electric motors, Nippon Steel Corp. alleged in a patent-infringement lawsuit Thursday, a rare public clash between Toyota and a longtime ally.
The suit comes during rising tensions within the global supply chain as suppliers such as Nippon Steel grapple with higher raw-material costs.
