11:30 IST:
A quick chat – Bangladesh’s Tanzid Hasan says that they did well on the opening day, but also made a few mistakes as well, particularly after losing back-to-back wickets. He adds that there were also a couple of good partnerships, and when he came out to bat, the wicket looked really good. He says he tried to play his natural game and make the most of the new ball, while remaining confident when things went his way. Comparing his approach with his hundred in Australia, Tanzid says there was no pre-planned approach. He explains that he wanted to assess the wicket and make the most of the ball, while keeping things simple by watching the ball and playing according to it. On the challenge of bowling to Afghanistan, Tanzid says the wicket looks really good, although he is unsure how it would play on the day. Reflecting on missing out on another hundred, Tanzid admits he was a little upset after his dismissal. He says he had been comfortable at the wicket but played a shot that cost him, describing it as part of his learning process. He adds that he will try his best to handle the situation better the next time he finds himself in a similar position.
