The Portuguese star signed the Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, reportedly, a potential USD 200 million deal, which also saw him the highest-paid player in football history. The 37-year-old was officially unveiled as the new Al-Nassr player in front of thousands of fans in Saudi Arabia. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner attended the grand ceremony with his partner, Georgina Rodriguez and kids, Cristiano Ronaldo Jr, twins Eva Maria and Mateo Ronaldo, and Alana Martina. Pictures from the event flooded the social media timeline. The latest and possibly final chapter in his illustrious career came weeks after Portugal’s quarter-final exit from the World Cup in Qatar. Ronaldo’s relationship with Manchester United came to an following his fiery comments in an exclusive interview last year, leading to the termination of his deal with the Premier League giants. Earlier, the official social media page of Al-Nassr shared pictures of Ronaldo, flaunting his CR7 jersey. “This is more than history in the making. This is a signing that will not only inspire our club to achieve even greater success but inspire our league, our nation and future generations, boys and girls to be the best version of themselves. Welcome @cristiano to your new home @alnassr_fc,” read the caption. The contract runs until 2025. Ronaldo’s signing is the latest foray into top-level sports by oil-rich Saudi, which has moved into Formula One, boxing and golf and snapped up English club Newcastle United.
