VARANASI: Complying with the May 20 Supreme Court order, the court of Varanasi district judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha will restart from Monday hearing on the arguments of Anjuman Intezamia Masjid (AIM) – the mosque management committee – challenging maintainability of the case seeking permission to offer prayers to Shringar Gauri and other deities in Gyanvapi mosque compound.
The district court is also likely to look into the leaking of video footage of court-mandated Gyanvapi mosque survey in this case following its release by the court to four plaintiffs on May 30.
District government counsel (civil) Mahendra Prasad Pandey told TOI, “Argument of AIM advocates challenging the maintainability of case no 693/2021 had not been completed when hearing on it took place last on May 30. Further hearing in this case at the district judge court will restart with AIM advocates’ arguments on the issue of maintainability.”
