Inside Ira Khans Kelvan Ceremony: It Was All About Maharashtrian Food

Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan, is all set to marry Nupur Shikhare on January 3. They got engaged in November last year, and their pre-wedding fun began with a Kelvan ceremony. Now, here’s the delicious part: the Kelvan ceremony is all about the fantastic food. Families whip up a mix of traditional dishes and sweets to welcome everyone, making it a grand feast showcasing the local flavours. You will find all sorts of vegetarian and non-vegetarian treats, desserts, and snacks, serving as a symbol of generous hospitality.

In a recent post, Ira shared a series of pictures from her Kelvan ceremony which showed her enjoying a traditional meal with her fiance Nupur. As we take a look at the table, it is evident that there are at least six utensils filled with an assortment of authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. During the gathering, Ira made an attempt to speak in Marathi, and her words translated to, “I can speak Marathi now, and I can…” (inaudible). She captioned the post, “Kelvan 2! Ukhana 2! I love him so so much.” Take a look:
