NEW DELHI: Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar will chair a meeting of opposition parties in Patna on June 12 amid renewed efforts to forge unity among non-BJP parties ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls, said JD(U) leader Manjit Singh on Sunday.

Of late, the Bihar CM has been leading the charge to bring the non-BJP parties on to a single platform.
He had met Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and former party president Rahul Gandhi on May 22 following which the Congress had announced that a meeting of a “vast majority of non-BJP parties” would take place soon. This was his second meeting with the Congress in a month.

Kumar has also met several leaders of regional parties and recently announced his support for the Aam Aadmi Party in its fight against the Centre’s Delhi ordinance on the control of administrative services.
There is no clarity right now regarding which parties will attend the meeting.
