On Harbhajan Singh’s 40th birthday, Virat Kohli took to Instagram and shared a throwback photo of himself and the India spinner playing football.

India captain Virat Kohli took to social media to wish teammate Harbhajan Singh on the spinner’s 40th birthday. Kohli shared a throwback photo of his former ‘fatter’ self playing football with the World Cup-winner.

Kohli came up with a cheeky post to send his wishes to Harbhajan. “Oh balle bajju paa what a kick. Wishing you a very happy bday paji. God bless. Kick improve karto please.

“Throwback to fatter times,” Kohli wrote as a caption.

In the photo, Kohli who is stockier than he is now can be seen overseeing a kick from Harbhajan as the duo are sporting football kits.

Kohli has been involved in friendly banter with Harbhajan on social media. He came up with a hilarious comment on Harbhajan’s workout clip and wrote: “Well done Paaji. Building kaamp rahi hai magar thodi thodi (the building is shaking a bit).”

Harbhajan, posting a series of emojis, replied, “slowly it will get better.. wait till this whole thing get over then we have a session together..”

Wishes have been pouring in for Harbhajan who has turned 40 on Friday, July 3. The World Cup-winner has not played international cricket since 2016 but has been a key member of Chennai Super Kings’ Indian Premier League campaigns over the last 2 years.

Harbhajan’s former India teammate Yuvraj Singh took to social media to send a cheeky wish to the off-spinner.

“Is it your happy 40 or 47? Here’s a glimpse of the wonderful years spent together pulling each other’s leg, sometimes pants too. U have always proved to the world Singh u will always be King. After quarantine party to leni hai 100%. love u paaji (sic), Yuvraj said in his social media post.

Mohammad Kaif send a heartwarming birthday wish to Harbhajan, saying “Bhajji ‘turns’ 40! One of India’s greatest match-winners. Two-time WC winner & picked 711 wickets for India. First saw him in U-16 game in Panaji in 1996 & he looked special. Aggressive on the field but yaaron ka yaar. Janamdin ki dher saari shubhkaamnaaein.”
