‘Pathaan’ box office collection day 1 early estimate: Shah Rukh Khan’s actioner to earn over Rs 51 crore on opening day – Times of India
With packed theatres on January 25, ‘Pathaan’ is expected to have raked in an exceptional opening day figure. Early estimate suggests that the Hindi version of the movie will earn Rs 50-51 crore. With this figure, ‘Pathaan’ will beat the non-holiday opening day record of ‘Bahubali – The Conclusion’ (Hindi). Shah Rukh Khan’s film is now in the league of ‘War’ (2019) which had earned Rs 50 crore nett on opening day and ‘KGF 2’ (Hindi) (2022) which raked in Rs 52 crore nett, however both the films were big holiday releases.
Had ‘Pathaan’ release on the occasion of Republic Day, the film would have earned a bigger opening. However, by releasing the film on Wednesday, Shah Rukh Khan has ensured a grand opening weekend collection. ‘Pathaan’ has performed low in Gujarat / Saurashtra, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan, but they should catch up today. The film has been well received in UP and Bihar markets. The collection of ‘Pathaan’ is expected to race ahead today.
With ‘Pathaan’, Shah Rukh Khan will be seen in an action packed avatar. Speaking about the same, SRK had shared, “I came to the film industry 32 years ago to be an action hero but I missed the boat because they made me a romantic hero instead. I’ve only wanted to be an action hero. I mean I love DDLJ and I love Rahul and Raj and all these good sweet boys but I always thought I was an action hero, so for me it is it’s my dream come true.” Directed by Sidharth Anand, ‘Pathaan’ was released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
