Prashant Kishor has undertaken his Padyatra as a part of BJP’s agenda in Bihar: JD(U) chief Lalan Singh | Patna News – Times of India

PATNA: Janata Dal (United) national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh on Monday slammed political strategist Prashant Kishor for the latter’s remark that ‘there were no development works in the last 30 years in Bihar’, and further alleged that Kishor has undertaken his ‘Jan Suraj Padyatra‘ as a “part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) agenda” as he (PK) has been working on behalf of the BJP in the state.
Seeking an inquiry into the expenses of PK’s ‘Jan Suraj Yatra’, Lalan said, “Kishor is giving big advertisements on the cover pages of different newspapers. Where is he getting money for all such campaigns? What is the source of his money which he is spending on the advertisements?”
The JD(U) chief also questioned the ED and CBI for remaining silent on the huge money being spent by Kishor on his padyatra programme.
“Where is the CBI and the ED? Are they meant only for opposition leaders like Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad and Bihar deputy CM Tejashwi Prasad Yadav?” Lalan, the foe-turned-friend of Lalu, questioned.
“He (PK) is under the control of the place from where the money is generated for his advertisement in the newspaper’s cover pages. I have learnt that the payments for the advertisements were done in cash,” Singh said.
Earlier on Sunday, Kishor – while beginning his ‘Jan Suraj Padyatra’ programme from Bhitiharwa Ashram in West Champaran district, said, “We have been hearing for 30-40 years that education and health services would be improved but nothing has changed in the state. In 1990, Bihar was the poorest and most backward and in 2022 it remains the same”.
Kishor’s remarks have angered the rank and files in the ruling JD(U) and the RJD.
“We do not need any certificate from Prashant Kishor for Bihar’s development works. Every child in Bihar knows what sort of transformation has been done in the state,” the JD(U) chief said.
To a question, the JD(U) president also said that Kishor used to play the game of data. “He is roaming from here to there in Bihar as a part of the “BJP agenda”. Whatever name he may give to his Yatra (Jan Suraj Yatra), but he is working for the BJP,” Singh said.
