R Ashwin jokingly invites Hanuma Vihari to YouTube talk show amid Andhra cricket row

R Ashwin invited Hanuma Vihari on his Youtube talk show ‘Kutty Stories’ after the latter slammed Andhra Pradesh’s cricket board and said that he would not represent the team anymore.

Ashwin, in a cheeky post, asked Vihari if he would be able to make himself available for the chat show.

“Respected Vihari, are you ready?” Ashwin wrote.

Vihari responded and wrote, “Whenever you ready, I am too.”

Earlier, Vihari dropped a long post on his Instagram account where he talked about quitting Andhra cricket after being asked to step down as the captain of the Andhra team. He talked about a run-in with a player, whose father complained to the Andhra Pradesh Cricket Association.

Vihari also shared a letter given to the state unit president that showed the backing he had from his teammates.

“We fought hard till the end but it wasn’t meant to be. Gutted to lose another quarters with Andhra. This post is about some facts I want to put forward.”

“I was the captain in the first game against Bengal, during that game I shouted on 17th player and he complained to his dad (who is a politician), his dad in return asked the Association to take action against me.”

“Although, we chased 410 against last year’s finalists Bengal I was asked to resign from captaincy without any fault of mine. I never said anything on a personal note to the player but the association thought that player was more important than the guy who gave his body on the line last year and batted left handed, took Andhra to knock outs 5 times in the last 7 years and played for India in 16 tests.”

“I felt embarrassed, but the only reason I continued playing this season because I respect the game and my team.”

Sad part is association thinks that players have to listen to whatever they say and players are there because of them.”

As far as Ashwin is concerned, he recently played for the Indian team which won the Test series against England 3-1. Ashwin earlier became the fastest Indian to pick up 500 wickets in Test cricket. He also achieved the landmark of picking most wickets for India in Tests, going past the legendary Anil Kumble.
