Apart from his batting, Shubman Gill has aced another thing during the ongoing IPL 2026 season. And that has been his social media game. The GT captain has trolled CSK and RCB after defeating them this season and also didn’t spare PBKS. But this time around, he kept his social media game lit at the expense of his own team following the loss to KKR.

KKR vs GT, IPL 2026: Highlights | Scorecard

Gujarat were beaten by 29 runs at the Eden Gardens as the visitors were made to pay for their sloppy fielding performance. GT dropped a total of four catches, allowing Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green to take full advantage and score runs freely and post a total of 247 runs.

Gill kept GT in the hunt with his 49-ball 85 but in the end it wasn’t enough. After the game was done, Gill posted on Instagram with a cheeky dig at his own team, hinting that they will do better with their catching next time around.

“We’ll catch the next one,” said Gill on Instagram.

WHAT GILL SAID ABOUT GT’S CATCHING VS KKR

Gill was honest with his assessment of GT’s performance on the field, saying that they didn’t deserve the win in the end. However, the Gujarat skipper was also happy to have such a performance well ahead of the qualifiers.

“We set a certain standard and dropping three sitters, we didn’t deserve to win this one. Looking at it that way, best to have a game like this now than in the Qualifiers,” Gill said after the match.

“Looking at the wicket, 200-210 was par score but we dropped too many catches. Pitch was good, the odd one was stopping but I felt we batted well to get to the score we did. No concerns but our fielding could’ve been a lot better,” Gill explained.

GT needs just one more win to seal qualification and will face CSK in their final league game on May 21.
